  • Get your clothes ready the night before
  • Set your alarm

The company:

  • Remember the name of the company and the interviewer
  • Where is the interview taking place?
  • How long has the company been in running for?
  • How many employees do they have?
  • What is the organisational structure of the company?
  • What services do they offer or products do they sell?
  • Who kind of customers do they deal with?

The interview:

  • Get up early enough to plan your route
  • Wear appropriate and clean clothing
  • Take the name and address with you
  • If you are driving take enough money with you for parking
  • If you are travelling on public transport check the times
  • Don’t smoke or drink alcohol directly before
  • Take your current curriculum vitae and any samples with you.

During the Interview:

  • Don’t give short answers and don’t babble
  • You are also there to interview the interviewer
  • Relax. But not too much!
  • Don’t fidget
  • Speak clearly, don’t mumble
  • If you don’t understand a question say so.

After the Interview:

  • After the interview, shake hands with the interviewer and thank them for seeing you.
  • Make a note of the questions asked for next time
  • Think about where you went wrong.
  • If you are not chosen don’t give up
